Have you ever worked on something with a group of other people and realized that it was just better together?
Helen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
Habesha Momma takes teams to Ethiopia twice a year. There is no “I” when the teams travel. It’s always “we.”
- WE work together
- WE love together
- WE share together
- WE help together
- WE build together
- WE rest together
- WE learn together
- WE cry together
- WE laugh together
- WE receive blessings together
- WE give blessings together
- WE SERVE TOGETHER!
Not only do you reap great rewards from working with an awesome group of people, there are really great benefits to doing some work overseas. Some of those include expanding your taste buds; getting to learn a new language (or at least experience it); learning how to interact with another culture; most importantly-you gain the satisfaction of helping others by reaching beyond what feels comfortable. Some other benefits to helping others include a longer life span, lower blood pressure, and just an overwhelming feeling of happiness.
Girl Scout Troop 13 quickly grabbed the concept of partnering with Habesha in order to make a difference in the lives of Ethiopians. Become a RoC Partner (Ripples of Change) and watch your contribution spread out over the lives of others. The Dalai Lama said it best; “Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water, the actions of individuals can have far reaching effects.”
He also said, “It is not enough to be compassionate, we must act.” Be a compassionate actor!
Together, we can do so much!
